NEW WORK – Unique Cushions

This very recent range of my art cushions uses rescued textiles, my

patchwork or collage samples, pieces of antique Chinese embroidered panels

appliqued on silk remnants, hand woven linen and cotton corduroy.  These Chinese silk and felted silk embroidered panels were meant for jackets and have been safely stored away for many years because I thought they were too precious to use.  Time to share them as I need to keep creating to expand my ideas with so many threads and fabrics surrounding me in my studio.  I have a diverse assembly of materials so I want to continue to  expand ideas by rummaging through fabrics and lace, notes and photographs.  It doesn’t worry me anymore creating so much volume because this is why I have three sewing machines and so much inspiration from nature outside.
